I'm Huma Imtiaz (pronouns: she/hers) and I'm running to serve as commissioner for (the newly redrawn) ANC5E04. I've lived in Bloomingdale since 2013 and am grateful for the opportunity to serve this wonderful community that we get to call home. I’m originally from Pakistan and have lived in Washington, D.C., since 2011. I’m an avid runner, a slow cyclist (that First Street hill gets me each time), and a newbie swimmer.  In addition to my day job as a communications professional, I currently serve as the president of the volunteer-run executive committee of the LeDroit Park Community Garden, which serves residents of Bloomingdale, LeDroit Park and surrounding neighborhoods. I've been endorsed by Erin Palmer, DC Voters for Animals, and Greater Greater Washington!

Event! Sidewalk Palooza: October 9!

Join me on Sunday, October 9 from 11 a.m. ET - 12:30 p.m. ET for Sidewalk Palooza! We'll do a community clean up and help submit 311 requests for neighborhood improvements (such as sidewalk repairs, missing road signs, etc). 

WHEN: Sunday, October 9 from 11 a.m. ET - 12:30 p.m. ET
WHERE: Meet outside 150 V St NW at 11 a.m.
WHAT SHOULD I BRING? Gloves and trash bags will be provided to those participating in the clean up! And do send me a note if you'd like to join or have ideas on making the event even more fun (weather is supposed to be a high of 60 degrees that day!).
 WHAT IS SIDEWALK PALOOZA? Sidewalk Palooza is organized by community leaders from DC to raise awareness and advocate for solutions to issues such as safety and accessibility for pedestrians.
