I'm Huma Imtiaz (pronouns: she/hers) and I'm running to serve as commissioner for (the newly redrawn) ANC5E04. I've lived in Bloomingdale since 2013 and am grateful for the opportunity to serve this wonderful community that we get to call home. I’m originally from Pakistan and have lived in Washington, D.C., since 2011. I’m an avid runner, a slow cyclist (that First Street hill gets me each time), and a newbie swimmer.  In addition to my day job as a communications professional, I currently serve as the president of the volunteer-run executive committee of the LeDroit Park Community Garden, which serves residents of Bloomingdale, LeDroit Park and surrounding neighborhoods. I've been endorsed by Erin Palmer, DC Voters for Animals, and Greater Greater Washington!

More Endorsements!

Thrilled to share that I've been endorsed by two amazing organizations as a candidate for Advisory Neighborhood Commission for 5E04.

First up, Greater Greater Washington has endorsed me for the position! I've long admired GGW's work and advocacy and this endorsement means a lot to me. In their statement, GGW highlighted my focus on safe streets, an issue which is of utmost importance to me. You can read their list of endorsed ANC candidates for Ward 5 here, and also read my full responses to the GGW questionnaire here.

In addition, DC Voters for Animals also endorsed me as a candidate (hope the cat and dog are as happy about this as I am)! You can read my responses to their questionnaire here.
