Hmm. This is interesting. Has the great president ever visited the temple at Manora, an island off Karachi? The temple there till 6 years ago was being used as a public lavatory. Don't judge a book by its cover. In related newstwo Christians were sentenced to 15 years for allegedly burning the Holy Quran. Please note the emphasis on allegedly.
LAHORE: Last Tuesday, Pakistani President Gen Pervez Musharraf did something, and also said something, which is rare in the political history of this Islamic Republic. He visited a Hindu temple in Karachi and said, “Places of worship of all religions, including Hinduism, were an integral part of the culture of Pakistan and its geographical history. Maintaining such properties in good condition is a government priority in order to turn them into sites of bonding between religions,” Sudheendra Kulkarni writes in the Indian Express newspaper.

Tuesday, November 28, 2006 at 10:49AM
From BBC:
Its been more than ten years since this case has been dragging on in the Indian courts, and they've finally come to a decision regarding Sunjay Dutt's involvement in the case, but honestly - the repercussions of this verdict will not be good, for both Bollywood and the Muslim population of India.
Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt has been found guilty in connection with India's deadliest series of bomb attacks.
Dutt, 47, was convicted of possessing illegal firearms but cleared of conspiracy in the 1993 Mumbai attacks. He will be sentenced at a later date. Dutt was acquitted on four more serious counts, including being part of the wider conspiracy behind the bomb attacks and trying to destroy evidence. He denied those charges but admitted possessing the weapons, saying they were to protect his family.
