I'm Huma Imtiaz (pronouns: she/hers) and I'm running for re-election as Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner (ANC) for 5E04 which covers parts of Bloomingdale and a sliver of Edgewood in Ward 5 of Washington, D.C.
I am committed to continue working on my key priorities, as I've been doing since I took on this role in 2023: making our streets safer for all, building a diverse, equitable and inclusive neighborhood, and advocating for you.

Accomplishments — some highlights!
Drafted and passed multiple resolutions at the ANC level to urge D.C. agencies to fix sidewalks, improve traffic safety, and install infrastructure to make our streets safer.
Testified at multiple D.C. Council hearings to advocate for good governance, and to highlight areas for D.C. agencies' to improve performance including at Office of Unified Communications (for 911 service), DPW, and DDOT.
Advocated for and got DDOT to install a new speed bump on V St NW.
Advocated for a new crosswalk on 2nd St NW (installation underway).
Advocated for and got multiple crosswalks and road markings striped and repainted in the SMD.
Advocated for and got DPW to install a new public litter can at 1st and U St NW.
Created a new ANC 5E website to enable smoother access to ANC-related materials, including resolutions and policies.
Supported the Bloomingdale Community Day event by advocating for a grant for Crispus Attucks Development Corporation.
Organized multiple monthly clean ups to pick trash in the neighborhood with volunteers.
